beginning these contractions come after every half an hour and last for 10-20 seconds and with the passage of time these contractions come after every twenty minutes, then after every ten minutes, later every five minutes and last for 40-60 minutes. Majority women get labor in waves and these sorts of painless contractions are known as Braxton Hicks or as false labor. This is one of the sings of early labor. These contractions become more regular one evening and after sometime they stop and then they come on next evening and again they stop after sometime. These contractions are usually painful and a pregnant woman consider it as signs of going into the labor but when pregnant woman goes to the hospital for labor, doctors send her back to home with false labor pains. Sometimes that pregnant woman gets disappointed due to these false labor pains. Nothing is wrong or false in these false labor contractions. These labor signs usually occurs as a result of work that your body is doing in order to get prepare for the birth. These are the first signs of labor and it is also tells that there is chance of early labor, but it is unable to foretell about the exact date of labor or about when your baby will born.

Changes in the Cervix are one of the major labor signs or symptoms. These changes occur few weeks before the birth of child. During these changes cervix becomes dilate, soften, developed and makes it easier for baby to be emitted. This process of changes in cervix is called effacement. As these changes occur inside the body so these changes go unnoticed by the pregnant woman. Only doctors can confirm these changes by accurate examinations.

An increase in vaginal discharge is also one of the early labor signs. In the beginning the vaginal discharge becomes thick and opaque and with the passage of time the discharge becomes lucid and more watery. The yellow color of vaginal discharge indicates infection. If this happens then the pregnant woman should visit her doctor as early as possible.

Diarrhea and Nausea is also one of the major early labor signs. Diarrhea and Nausea occurs as a result when bowels gets soften or due to some hormonal changes that take place inside the body of a pregnant woman. These hormonal changes occur in order to clean the body and make ejection of baby easy. This is one of the signs that labor is near because they occur only few days or hours before delivery. Some other early labor signs are reduction in weight, pain in lower back, discomfort in legs, unexpected explode of energy, anxiety or nervousness about baby or delivery.
